School of construction equipment operators 'ALEF STROI'

The recovery and development of Ukraine amid challenges is critically important. Following the destruction caused by military actions, the country is actively working on rebuilding infrastructure and creating new facilities. However, the significant shortage of qualified specialists in the construction sector poses serious obstacles to this process.

That is why we created the "SCHOOL OF CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT OPERATORS 'ALEF STROI'."

The USAID program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" supports Ukrainian businesses to enhance their competitiveness in the domestic and international markets. It helps build a simplified and transparent business climate and provides Ukrainian companies with opportunities to take advantage of international trade. Thanks to the support of this program and collaboration with Nemishaivskyi Technical College, we are able to implement a training project that will contribute to the recovery of the labor market and the economy of Ukraine.

"ALEF STROI" has been providing quality construction equipment services throughout Ukraine for 14 years. We take pride in our achievements and experience, and we are now ready to pass on this knowledge to a new generation of specialists. Given the shortage of specialists and the growing demand for construction services, we decided to create a school for construction equipment operators, which will not only supply qualified workers but also provide opportunities for professional and personal development.

What is this program?

This program is implemented by ALEF STROI (LLC "VBC "ELITPROJECT-BUD") in collaboration with VSP "Nemishaivskyi Technical College of NUBiP of Ukraine". The program is supported by the USAID program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. It aims to train female operators of specialized construction equipment to address the personnel shortage in Ukraine and contribute to the country's economic recovery.

What are the requirements to join the course?

Main requirements to participate in the course:

  • Passing a medical examination — this is a mandatory requirement to confirm your physical ability to undergo training.
  • Physical ability to stay at the training camp throughout the course (9 weeks). Students may leave the camp for weekends only with permission if there are no training sessions or studies.
  • Motivation to work in the acquired profession — it is essential to have a desire and readiness for employment after completing the course.
  • Age — you must be 18 or older at the time of enrollment.
  • Recommendation for women — the program is primarily focused on women, so the willingness to take on a non-typical profession is an advantage.
  • Tractor category "A" — having this category may be a competitive advantage.
What is the cost of training?

Training, accommodation, and meals are FREE during the entire theoretical and practical course.

What equipment is available for training at the operator's school?

Students at the ALEF STROI operator's school learn to operate fifteen types of specialized construction equipment, including:

Backhoe loaders — combine the functions of digging, loading, and transporting materials. They are suitable for large-scale construction projects as well as smaller landscaping jobs.

Telehandlers — designed for high-altitude work and lifting heavy loads. They can be used in the construction of residential and industrial buildings, as well as in agriculture.

Skid-steer loaders — ideal for work in confined spaces, such as urban projects or small construction sites where larger machines cannot operate effectively.

Mini-excavators — suitable for small construction projects and work in hard-to-reach places. They are convenient for short-term tasks.

I submitted an application, when will I be contacted?

Our managers will contact you in the order of applications received. Male applications are reviewed after processing women's applications. You can also contact us via the phone number provided on the project pages to check the status of your application.

When are the selection results announced?

Usually, the results are announced 1-2 weeks before the start of the course. If you are selected, you will be notified earlier.

Why focus on women? Can men apply for the course?

Due to the martial law in Ukraine, the construction industry has faced a critical personnel shortage, as most workers are men. Therefore, women are stepping in to help with reconstruction where possible. Operating construction equipment is well within women's capabilities, so we focus on providing specialized training for women and promoting gender equality in the industry.

The first five groups are funded by grants and private funds, providing an opportunity to train women and demonstrate that this is not only possible but effective. Men can also apply for the course, but women have certain advantages in the selection process.

We invite everyone, regardless of gender, to follow our social media pages(Facebook | Instagram) to stay updated and join the active programs of the School.

Are driving licenses required?

No, this is not a mandatory requirement, but driving experience may come in handy during the training.

Can veterans train to become construction equipment operators?

Yes, but only after passing a medical examination and obtaining clearance from the medical commission to operate construction equipment.

Are there paid courses?

Currently, no, but we are working on expanding the program to make it available to everyone. Follow our social media channels to stay updated on our news.

We look forward to seeing you at our School!
